This native timber brooch features the Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse built in 1895, which is located at the most south-westerly point of Western Australia. Cape Leeuwin is also the point where the Indian Ocean meets the Southern Ocean.
Crafted from Allocasuarina fraseriana, commonly known as Western Sheoak found throughout Perth and the South-West Region of WA. Sheoak trees can grow up to 15m high, have needle like leaves and have either male or female flowers. The wood grain has a distinctive lace pattern. Due to nature of natural materials, there will be variation in colour and grain from the photo shown.
