This native timber brooch feature the Western Australian native plant Chamelaucium uncinatum Geraldton Waxflower, commonly found in bushland around Geraldton.

Crafted from Allocasuarina fraseriana, commonly known as Western Sheoak found throughout Perth and the South-West Region of WA often in Jarrah Forest. Shoeaks can grow up to 15m high, have needle like leaves and have either male or female flowers. The wood grain has a distinct lace pattern.
